Radio Broadcaster Club radio show News & Blues:
The Rocky Mount Senior High School Radio Broadcaster's Club presented a 1/2 hour program called News & Blues each Saturday on two of Rocky Mounts AM radio stations -- WEED at 1390 and WCEC at 810. This is an excerpt from the Spring of 1961. The format was usually 3 people, 2 would give dedications to current popular songs and 1 person would read the news. Because I don't want any hassles from the copyright Gestapo, I've only included the news portion, read by, you're truly, Tom Faulkner.
The songs were: Without You, Your Other Love, Tear of the Year, I'm Learning About Love, Sway, Count the Tears, Calendar Girl, Rubber Ball, and Don't Go To Strangers. If you look those up, you might even be able to tell what week it was.
