Mt. Airy Granite
Mt. Airy Granite The white patch dimly visible in the distance is the Mt. Airy Granite Quarry. Largest of it's type in the United States. From it came the piece of granite below the sign. Typically Feldspar and Quartz with a sprinkling of Black Biotite Mica. This granite is widely used in construction of Mausoleums, Statues, Buildings, and Bridges.
