The small brook at the exit of the Glenn Cove Mill Pond

Three local children enjoy "not-swimming" in the pond.
Since swimming is not permitted on the Parkway, they would have had to have been wading.

Just a typical view along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Milepost 216 is just North of the NC, VA line.

The elevation below is 1000 ft. The elevation here is 2900 ft. Milepost 204

Mt. Airy Granite
The white patch dimly visible in the distance is the Mt. Airy Granite Quarry. Largest of it's type in the United States. From it came the piece of granite below the sign. Typically Feldspar and Quartz with a sprinkling of Black Biotite Mica. This granite is widely used in construction of Mausoleums, Statues, Buildings, and Bridges. The picture was taken from Granite Quarry Overlook. Elevation 3015' Milepost 203
